Bahama Breeze Empanada Recipeː Easy and Decadent Comfort Food
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
- 1/4 cup salted butter
- 2 lightly beaten eggs
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 3/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 10 cups vegetable oil
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup finely chopped Russet potatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced carrots
- 2 tablespoons diced yellow onion
- 1 teaspoon chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp. chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon lime juice
- Prepare the batter by mixing all-purpose flour with kosher salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Stir in 1/4 cup vegetable shortening.
- Place the cold butter in the flour after cutting it with a butter knife.
- In that bowl, combine milk and beaten eggs.
- Knead the dough to form a ball. Use plastic wrap to cover.
- Please place it in the fridge to give you time to finish the filling.
- Put your 1/2 pound ground beef in a skillet.
- Heat over medium heat. Take it off the heat after browning.
- Drain the fat into a bowl using a slotted spoon from the skillet.
- Then add the diced russet potatoes to the saucepan.
- Put water in your saucepan and boil it.
- Drain the potatoes after they are tender enough.
- Please place them in the skillet with the remaining fat.
- Sauté carrots and onion for five minutes over medium heat.
- Put the cooked ground beef back into the skillet.
- Then add the cayenne pepper, minced parsley, paprika, curry powder, and salt.
- Stir in chicken broth and lime juice.
- Put on low heat for 3-5 minutes.
- Set skillet aside after removing from heat.
