Meatballs With Teriyaki Sauce in a Toaster Oven

Meatballs With Sweet and Sour Sauce

For the sauce, combine:

  • 3/4 cup (175 mL) ketchup
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) packed brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) soy sauce

Meatballs With Tomato Sauce

For the sauce, combine:

  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) tomato sauce
  • 2 minced cloves garlic
  • 1 chopped small onion
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) grated Parmesan cheese

Meatballs With Cranberry Sauce

For the sauce, combine:

  • 1 cup (250 mL) cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) orange juice
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) Dijon mustard

Meatballs

Teriyaki Sauce

  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice wine or orange juice
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp gingerroot chopped

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire, green onion, salt and pepper. Shape mixture into about 25 meatballs (about 1 inch/2.5 cm in diameter). Arrange in a lightly greased 8 inch (2 L) square baking dish.
  • For sauce, in a medium bowl, combine chicken stock, soy sauce, rice wine, sugar and ginger. Pour sauce over meatballs.
  • Bake in preheated 375°F (190°C) toaster oven for 40 minutes, carefully stirring occasionally.
