As an alternative for Oktoberfest, you can use Italian, honey garlic, apple sage, and bratwurst.

Sausages vary in size. Some are long, while others are pudgier. Generally, a sausage weighs about 4 oz (125 g). Because of the variation, roasting times may need to be adjusted slightly. You can add a vegetable or baked beans and serve with a green salad.

You will need a toaster oven to prepare this.

Sausages and Sweet Potatoes

Peel 2 medium sweet potatoes (each about 8 oz/250 g). Cut into 3/4-inch (2 cm) pieces. Toss with 2 tsp (10 mL) olive or vegetable oil and some salt and pepper. Arrange sweet potatoes around sausages and roast for 33 to 35 minutes. turning two or three times. until potatoes are tender and sausages are golden.

Sausages with Mini Potatoes

Cut 1 lb (500 g) mini potatoes in half (or into quarters. if large). Toss with 2 tsp (10 mL) olive or vegetable oil and some salt and pepper. Arrange potatoes around sausages and roast for 33 to 35 minutes, turning a few times, until potatoes are tender and sausages are golden.

Sausages with Baked Beans

Arrange sausages in an 8-inch (2 L) square baking dish. Bake for 25 to 28 minutes, or until starting to brown and almost cooked. Stir in a 14-oz (398 mL) can of baked beans, 1/4 cup (50 mL) ketchup, chili sauce or tomato sauce, and 1/2 tsp (2 mL) garlic or onion powder. Continue to bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until beans are bubbling and hot.
