Getting that perfect slice of turkey breast is like finding hidden treasure for meat lovers!
You see, when you mention London broil, what comes to my mind is beef, made mostly with the top round or a flank steak.
However, the Turkey London broil is a skinned, boneless, half turkey breast.
I noticed that because it has little to no fat content.
It’s prone to drying out quickly after cooking, and so the key is in the preparation method to help the meat absorb extra moisture.
Hence, marinating or brining is crucial before cooking.
It will add flavor to your meat while at the same time ensuring you won’t end up with a dried-out dish.
Brining your turkey London broil
Brining is adding salt or a salt solution to your cut of meat and, in this case, a turkey London broil.
Brining enriches the meat with extra moisture and flavor while also tenderizing it.
You can either wet brine by immersing the turkey breast in a salt solution or dry brine by sprinkling salt on it.
This causes the muscle fibers to swell and retain more moisture; hence they won’t dry too much during your cooking process.
Wet brine
If you choose a wet brine, a basic water and salt solution is enough.
Put the salt solution in a large container and submerge your turkey London broil and refrigerate.
You can make things spicier by adding optional flavoring ingredients such as apple cider, soy sauce, honey, or herbs in your solution.
Wet brines will make the turkey breast moist and juicy, though some critics say it dilutes the turkey flavor and prefer a dry brine.
Dry brine
Dry brining is a colorful way of saying to season your turkey with salt before cooking it.
It helps absorb the turkey London broil’s juice and traps them to create a mixture of salt and meat juice.
The process is cherished as it leaves the turkey’s natural flavors intact.
This process is easier than wet brine, which needs more time.
Dry brining will make the outer layer crispier when the meat is cooked.
The only challenge is that it is easy to over-salt, so you have to be careful with the salt portion.
All you need to do is sprinkle the turkey breast with salt and lightly rub it to coat evenly.
Then refrigerate uncovered for 12-24 hours, and afterwards pat it with paper towels, and your meat is ready for cooking.
After brining, you can add your spices, herbs, or favorite dry rub before cooking the turkey London broil according to your favorite recipe.
There is no need to add salt because it is still absorbed in the meat.
Fantastic marinades for the Turkey London broil
Another great way of adding flavor and moisture to your turkey breast is through marination.
If brining sounds too dull and you want your meat golden and colorful, use this process.
Here are my favorite marinades that are easy to make and will spice up your delicacy:
Honey Mustard Turkey Marinade
This thick and golden marinade is ideal as it sticks well to the turkey breast’s surface and forms a splendid coat, bringing a unique flavor to your dish.
Ingredients
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, whisk thoroughly, then evenly marinade your turkey London broil.
Put the meat in an airtight bag and refrigerate for 10-20 hours.
It is now ready for cooking.
Lemon Pepper Marinade
Aside from adding flavor, lemon helps to tenderize your meat.
The garlic adds a sweet aroma, and the overall marinade brings out a rather tasty flavor in the turkey London broil.
Ingredients
In a bowl, mix the oil and lemon, whisk until well combined, add the other ingredients, and continue whisking.
Your marinade is now ready but allow it to sit for ten minutes before marinating your meat for 4-6 hours.
Pineapple Marinade
The sweetness in the pineapple and honey gives the outer crust of the meat a splendid and appealing flavor.
The other ingredients make the blend of marinade perfect for a classic taste.
A word of caution, though; it may easily burn if you put on too high heat.
Ingredients
Mix all ingredients in a plastic bowl and let the mixture sit for 15 minutes before using, then marinate your turkey London broil for 2 to 4 hours.
My other favorite marinade is the Spicy Olive’s Marinade, which I will use in the following easy recipe for a grilled turkey breast.

This savory dish is a perfect meal when you want a classic treat without going to an expensive restaurant.
Show your cooking prowess by inviting friends or dates over for a bite.
Serve with mashed potatoes and gravy or butter-seared vegetables with some french fries.
For a classier treat, a glass of wine to accompany the food will be the icing on the cake.

The secret to a classic and yummy turkey London broil is in the preparation.
Whether you prefer marinating or brining, it will enhance the flavor of your meat, bringing out a delicacy that isn’t too crispy and dry.
Regardless of the favorite recipe, ensure you take some time to prepare your turkey breast because the end result will be worth the time.
