  • One lb. lean ground beef or chicken or turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs fresh
  • One egg beaten
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup green onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Teriyaki Sauce

  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice wine or orange juice
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ginger root chopped

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire, green onion, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Shape mixture into about 25 meatballs (about 1 inch/2.5 cm in diameter). Arrange in a lightly greased 8 inch (2 L) square baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine chicken stock, soy sauce, rice wine, sugar, and ginger for the sauce. Pour sauce over meatballs.
  4. Bake in preheated 375°F (190°C) toaster oven for 40 minutes, carefully stirring occasionally.
  5. Finally, brush the meatballs with your favorite teriyaki sauce and serve them on a bed of steamed rice.

  • You can use any type of ground meat you like for this recipe. Beef, pork, chicken, turkey, lamb, etc., all work great.
