- 5 black tea bags
- 1 black tea bag
- 1 turbinado ⁄3 cup
- 2 cups water boiling
- 6 cups water cold
- lemon juice optional
- You can use six normal tea bags, but we prefer to liven things up by adding one bag of pricier tea. Mango, peach, raspberry, and other fruits are some good examples. A full brew of specialty tea can be somewhat sweet.
- Fill a 2-cup liquid measuring cup with the bags. Over them, pour 2 cups of nearly boiling water. 15 minutes of steeping Although you might expect it to be bitter, it seems to work out just fine. You can experiment with less bags, but you might wish to do so later.
- Remove the bags and then stir in 1/3 cup turbinado sugar. Shake until dissolved.
- Add the cold water after pouring into a 2 quart container. This method speeds up the tea’s cooling process. You can add ice in place of some of the cold water if you need to use it straight away.
- If desired, add lemon.
